Lederman Receives Distinguished Service Award at the 2017 National Science Teachers Conference

Norman Lederman, distinguished professor of mathematics and science education, will receive the Distinguished Service Award at the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) 2017 National Conference on Science Education in Los Angeles, California, March 30–April 2, 2017. This award honors NSTA members who, through active leadership and scholarly endeavor over a significant period of time, have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of education in the sciences and science teaching. 

Each year NSTA conducts a national conference on science education to enhance professional learning and provide networking forums for science educators. The event attracts science educators from all over the United States and the world. At this conference, teachers attend workshops, demonstrations, and presentations covering every discipline, grade level, and teaching focus from grades preK–16. They hear nationally renowned speakers address the hottest topics in science education and learn about the latest breakthroughs from experts in the field.
