Biochemistry (B.S.)

Biochemistry examines the biomolecular processes and chemical reactions occurring in living organisms and systems. This knowledge is fundamental to tackle many of the environmental and health-related challenges facing society.

At Illinois Tech the biochemistry major blends theoretical and laboratory courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, mathematics, statistics, and more, producing a solid foundation for careers in clinics, research, or biotechnology.

The biochemistry major at Illinois Tech is a scientifically rigorous and challenging program providing students with analytical, scientific, and practical skills through a balanced, yet flexible, offering in STEM courses. Combined with undergraduate research opportunities, this curriculum provides the knowledge, skills, and experiences to open career pathways.
